Lake Dillion Winter Surprise Proposal Photos | Akash and Meera
At the end of 2024, I had the pleasure of capturing Akash prose to Meera on Lake Dillion in Dillion, Colorado. Akash contacted me back in early October to plan the perfect surprise proposal to Meera. He and Meera were planning a winter vacation to visit Colorado for the first time. Part of their trip was going to be in Breckenridge, Colorado and Akash was manifesting a snowy mountain winter wonderland as a backdrop for when he asked Meera to marry him. I suggested one of my favorite spots on Lake Dillion which is right down the road from Breckenridge.
To both of our delights, there was a fresh blanket of untouched snow that covered the shore of Lake Dillion and beautiful cloud coverage the afternoon of the proposal. At the time of the proposal, Akash led Meera down the snow-covered path to the shoreline and popped the question. Meera of course said enthusiastically! Following their proposal, I took them all over the shoreline and captured celebratory couple’s portraits. At the end of the photo session, Akash surprised Meera with a bouquet of red roses and a bottle of Champagne. We ended their photo shoot with a champange pop and cheers!
Something that was really unique about Akash and Meera’s surprise proposal is that they had a videographer. In addition to photos, Akash wanted a video capturing the proposal itself and the post surprise proposal joy during their couples photos. I recommended my very talented videographer friend Jarrah of Jarrah Maire Photography. Jarrah made a beautiful video of the surprise proposal and our portrait section which you can view here. This was the first time I ever worked side by side with a videographer for a surprise proposal and after seeing Jarrah’s video I am hoping more of my future surprise proposal clients choose to add a videographer.
