Rooftop Surprise Proposal at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C | Kennan and Christina

Rooftop Kennedy Center Surprise Proposal in Washington, D. C

The rooftop at the Kennedy Center is one of my all time favorite spots in Washington, D.C for capturing surprise proposals so when Kennan contacted me about capturing him popping the question to Christina here I was super excited!

Kennan and Christina were visiting from out of town and were planning to see a show later in the day at the Kennedy Center. We decided that they were going to arrive a bit early and Kennan was going to suggest going to the roof to look at the view of the city. When Kennan and Christina got on the roof, he told me to pretend like I was taking pictures of the view myself and ask them to model for a few pictures ( FYI I felt so silly and awkward doing this cause I would never do this in real life but hey it was a good plan to throw off Christina… hahaha) and then he would pop the question a few poses in. Everything went off with a hitch and Christina said yes!

I absolutely love shooting on the rooftop of the Kennedy center because of all the beautiful views of Washington, D.C and the modern architecture of the building. The roof top is super easy to access as well and depending on the time of day it is usually not very crowded which makes executing a surprise proposal seamless.
