Where To Order the Best Save The Dates

Save the dates let guests know that they are going to be formally invited to your wedding in the coming months or year. They provide the guests with basic date and location information. Couples typically send out save-the-dates a few months after they've gotten engaged and have confirmed their wedding date and venue. As a wedding photographer, I typically shoot engagement photos for my clients which some choose to include on their save the dates cards. I often get asked by my couples good places to order their save the dates along with their other wedding paper goods. Basic Invite is my top recommendation!

Things that I love about Basic Invite

Order custom samples before making a final decision

One of the things I love most about Basic Invite is they give their customers the opportunity to order different printed samples of their save the date cards and invitations so they can see / feel the card’s paper quality and how it will print for themselves before placing their final order. As someone who prefers to see things in real life before purchasing them, I absolutely love that this is an option!

Lots of options and very customizable

My favorite thing about Basic Invite is that there are SO many different options to choose from design wise. They have over 900 Wedding Invitation Sets ( this includes save the dates, wedding invitations, enclosure cards, wedding menus, wedding programs, and even matching thank you cards). They also have over 40 different colors of envelopes that are also conveniently peel and seal so the envelopes can be sealed with ease. Basic Invite is also one of the few websites that allows their customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. You can change the color of each element on a card (which is HUGE from a designer perspective) with over 180 different color options. When I was creating samples of my own to test out for save the dates, I absolutely loved that not only did I had a ton of options to choose from but also could customize them to my liking when it came to font size, color and style. As someone who is really intentional about how things are designed, I just LOVED this! Being able to design wedding sets down to the littlest details is what really sets Basic Invite apart from other online wedding stationary companies I have seen.

Free Address Collection Service

Basic Invite has a free address collection service to request your guests’ addresses with just three simple steps. Share a link via social media or email, collect addresses, and get free envelope printing. This is huge and a big time saver especially if you are inviting a lot of guests to your wedding!

Seal & Send Wedding Invitations

Their new seal and send wedding invitations are an all-in-one wedding invitation with a tear-off RSVP postcard included! Currently, they offer them in over 30 designs including our ever-popular foil options, and, like their other products, they are customizable. What's really special about Basic Invite’s Seal & Sends is that guest's addresses are printed on the front of each invitation so no envelope is necessary! All you have to do is share a link, collect guest addresses, and upload them onto your design. Once you receive your order all you have to do is add postage, fold your invites, and secure them with a sticker! So simple and easy which is truly the best!

Free Wedding Websites

Basic Invite gives its customers the opportunity to make a free, completely customizable, mobile friendly and super easy to use wedding websites!  You can instantly upload all of your wedding details, along with images, and a convenient map with directions for your guests. And you can choose from 180 custom colors, and a design suite to match your wedding invitation sets. I absolutely love this because you can make both your printed goods and your website look cohesive.

My Personal Opinion and Experience with Basic Invite

Just so I could see what Basic Invite’s save the dates were like for myself, I created and ordered some custom samples just to see a few of their products and check out the design process for myself. I absolutely loved that the Basic Invite Website was so user friendly and easy to use in the creation process and that I had so many options for customizing all the little details on each invite. I was very impressed with the quality of the print job and texture / thickness of each of the save the date invites and magnets I ordered. Plus, my samples shipped really quickly and came nicely package in a welcome folder with information and instructions on order from Basic Invite. I have to say that my personal favorite samples I got were the gold foil save the dates. They looked so elegant and classic. Below are the samples that I ordered….
