Fall Long Beach Island New Jersey Surprise Proposal

Okay y’all, this surprise proposal was extra special to me! I was so honored when my little brother Sam asked me to help him plan and capture his proposal to his now wife Brittany in Long Beach Island, New Jersey. My brother thought it would be really special to pop the question with a beach backdrop and since he, Brittany and I were going to both be in Long Beach Island at the same time he wanted me to document it (again SO honored to be apart of this!).

As for the plan, we picked a spot on the beach for me to “pretend” to be taking some photos of the ocean the morning of the proposal. Sam and Brittany took a morning beach walk where they by chance ran into me on their walk taking pictures. When Sam and Brittany saw me on the beach, I asked them if I could take some couple’s photos of them. A few shots in I had Brittany turn around and close her eyes. When she turned around, Sam was on one knee and popped the question with a beautiful princess cut engagement ring from James Allen. Brittany was totally 100% surprised and had one of the most joyful reactions I have ever seen. And of course, she said YES! Afterwards, we did a portrait session on the beach to celebrate the moment.

I highly recommend for beach proposals doing them early in the morning for good light and to avoid the crowds. We had such beautiful light the morning of Brittany and Sam’s proposal and there was literally no one on the beach except us which set the scene for an intimate and romantic sunrise proposal.
