Family & Senior Photography FAQs

+ WHEN SHOULD WE SCHEDULE WITH YOU?

Our team books on a first come, first serve basis so we recommend reaching out to us to book as soon as you have an idea of when you would like to book so we can get you on our calendar. Since our team also photographs weddings and elopements we book primarily Mondays through Thursdays with limited weekend availability. To make things official, you must sign and pay my 50% non refundable retainer to make things official . When it comes to senior photography, your senior portraits are taken the summer before your senior year if you are in high school. For those who are undergrads, getting their master, doctorate and law degrees it’s usually the spring or fall of your graduating year. When it comes to maternity photos, it is best to schedule them when you are between 26 and 34 weeks pregnant. For newborn photos it is best to schedule them within the first two week’s of your child’s birth.

+ WILL YOU TRAVEL FOR SENIOR, FAMILY, MATERNITY & NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY?

Our team is based out of Denver but I will gladly go wherever you need me to go in Colorado! No travel fees apply for locations in Denver or Boulder but shoots outside those areas will require a travel fee. + ARE YOU AN INCLUSIVE PHOTOGRAPHER AND LGBTQIA+ FRIENDLY?

Yes, yes 100% YES! Our team is LGBTQIA+ affirming and believe black lives matter. We will never discriminate based on gender, race, ability, sexual orientation or one’s personal beliefs. Everybody deserves to be captured and celebrated!

+ HOW MANY FAMILY MEMBERS CAN BE INCLUDED IN A FAMILY, MATERNITY OR NEWBORN SESSION?

Up to 6 family members can be included in a family session before a fee applies to add additional participants. Please send us an inquiry for a quote if you have over 8 participants.

+ HOW LONG ARE FAMILY & SENIOR SESSIONS WITH YOU?

Family, maternity and newborn sessions with our team are 1 hour long. Senior sessions are between 1 and 2 hours long depending on which package is purchased. Additional coverage is available for purchase.

+ DO YOU OFFER MINI PORTRAIT SESSIONS FOR FAMILY?

Our team does offer mini family portrait sessions from November through April at select locations in the Denver Metropolitian area. Maternity, Newborn and Senior sessions are not included in this offering.

+ CAN I BRING ANY OF MY FAMILY OR FRIENDS TO MY SENIOR SESSION?

Absolutely! You are more than welcome to bring them along as you long as you are comfortable with them being there. They can even jump in some pictures with you if you would like! Our team only asks that if they are respectful of our shoot and do not do anything to distract you since we will need you to be fully present when doing your portraits. No cell phone photos or video will be allowed on their end as well just so I can have your full attention for the shoot.

+ WHAT DO WE WEAR FOR A SESSION WITH YOU?

Upon booking, Brooke will send you our team’s portrait photography style guide that will help you with choosing outfits. Of course you can always message Brooke as well if you need some extra help deciding.

+ HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET OUR FINAL GALLERY AND HOW MANY PHOTOS DO WE RECEIVE?

For final galleries, it can will take up to 2 weeks after your session to receive them. However, to give you a sneak peak, Brooke will send you some previews within 72 hours to hold you over. Brooke tries to edit in a very timely manner because she knows waiting forever for photos you are super stoked to se is the worst! While Brooke can’t provide an exact number from a shoot, she can promise that you will receive on average 80-110 images for an hour of coverage. Brooke will never cap the number of images that she delivers or withholds any images. Brooke will always deliver all photos that are well composed, well exposed and not duplicates of other images.

+ DO YOU DO EXTENSIVE PHOTOSHOP WORK ON BODIES?

Our team is made up of HUGE body positivity and body acceptance advocates. Our philosophy is that real is better than perfect and a photoshopped body is not real looking or honors your body in the slightest. If you are coming into a shoot with us wanting your body to appear different then how you appear in real life, we are definitely not the photographers for you. The only time we do "extensive" editing (that is not even really extensive) is getting rid of small blemishes, skin discoloration and distracting objects in the background. Additional more extensive edits to images cost $20 per file and are sent out to professional editors.
